ABOUT THE OWNER
Company owner Scott Cormier was born and raised in Billings, MT and graduated from Billings Central Catholic High School in 1996. In the early 2000’s, he caught the metal fabricating bug after becoming obsessed with the many custom motorcycle fabricating shows that were on TV at that time. He was inspired by Jesse James, Indian Larry, Billy Lane, Arlen Ness, Russel Mitchell, Dave Perewitz, and others. After pursuing a teaching career, he decided to follow his heart and his passion and began his journey into the metal fabrication world.
He cut his teeth in a fabrication shop in Bozeman, MT, working on some of the biggest luxury mountain homes in the United States at the Yellowstone Club and surrounding areas. In 2016, he followed his longtime girlfriend to Tacoma, WA and opened up Splice Welding & Design. During that time, he built a client base that allowed him to work on some amazing homes in the Seattle and greater Puget Sound area.
However, his love of Montana and the wide open spaces kept tugging at his heart, and he decided to make the move back to his hometown of Billings in the winter of 2026. Starting fresh, he renamed the company Yellowstone Metal. He continues to bring his honesty, integrity, and construction experience to every project and professional relationship.
Cormier does not limit himself to architectural metal fabrication, and enjoys working on all types of projects. Whether that is building rally carts from scratch, hand-machining parts from raw material, fixing broken equipment, or working on his Harley Davidson and other project motorcycles, he is always happiest when he is “on the tools”. He is thrilled to be a part of the Billings community again, and looks forward to hearing about your projects or your needs.
